Dr. Christian Bannerman, M.D.
At the age of 12, while growing up in his native country of Ghana in West Africa, Dr. Bannerman was simultaneously caring for his grand aunt who had suffered a stroke and his uncle who had lung fibrosis. That experience in his formative years confirmed to him that taking care of others was his calling. Today, he is the Director of the Urgent Care Center in the Emergency Department at Queens Hospital Center in New York City.
His responsibilities at Queens Hospital includes management of several community programs, ensuring that volunteers in the Emergency Department gain the necessary experience to provide excellent care. He also leads the Advance Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support Courses in the hospital, preparing medical staff around the city for those critical of situations when patients are facing life-threatening injuries.
After graduating from Binghamton University in New York, Dr. Bannerman pursued his medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University at Syracuse. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Maimonides Medical Center.
His experience with start-up investments, relationships with investors both inside and outside of the medical field and his ability and willingness to help entrepreneurs succeed in the medical field makes him an excellent addition to the Chamber.
Dr. Bannerman resides with his wife and two children in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
